Bluest Love represents the near fifteen year musical journey of songwriter Garret Croxon which combines the sounds of golden era 4AD records bands like the “Red House Painters” with the energy and guitar centric sounds of Midwest Emo bands like “American Football”. While acoustic guitar is featured prominently in many of the bands songs; showcasing Croxon’s unique fingerpicking and pension for alternate tunings, the many years of performing in local Shoegaze bands has also had a major influence in the bands sound. Bluest Love was formed in 2025 after the dissolution of Croxon’s former band Midnight Blooms, which had a brief, but acclaimed existence in 2013. Although the lineup has changed, former members; Andrew Gaskin and Will Hallauer (of Erik Blood and Turn-Ons respectively) have returned. Rounding out the band is the addition of bassist Jeff Anderson (Tea Cozies, Garden Party, Loose Feels). They are preparing for their first release which will feature both songs from Croxon’s previous band as well as new material. The release is slated for early 2026.
